H4RA 4K HDMI Fiber Extender with Audio & RS232 — Long-Distance AV Made Simple

Source: Time:2026-07-29 18:18:56 views:

If you need to send 4K video, audio, and control signals over long distances without quality loss, the H4RA HDMI fiber optic extender is built for exactly that.

What Is the H4RA?

The H4RA is a 4K HDMI fiber extender that transmits uncompressed HDMI 2.0 video, bidirectional 3.5mm analog audio, and RS232 serial control data over a single-mode fiber optic cable — up to 20KM away.

It comes as a transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) pair. Connect your source device to the TX, run a single LC fiber cable to the RX, and your display gets a perfect 4K signal at the other end. No compression. No lag. No signal degradation.

Key Features

  • 4K@60Hz support — Full HDMI 2.0, up to 3840×2160 or 4096×2160 at 60Hz, 18Gbps bandwidth
  • 20KM transmission distance — Single-mode LC SFP fiber, 10Gbps fiber bandwidth
  • Bidirectional audio — 3.5mm analog audio in and out on both ends
  • RS232 pass-through — Send serial control commands over the same fiber link
  • Local display output — TX includes an HDMI loop-out for near-end monitoring
  • IR pass-through — Control remote devices from either end
  • Plug and play — Automatic EDID detection, no software or drivers needed
  • Wide power input — DC 5V–15V, built-in ESD protection

Who Needs It?

The H4RA is the right tool for:

  • Conference rooms and lecture halls — Send 4K from a presentation PC to a large display across the building
  • Broadcast and live production — Reliable uncompressed video over long fiber runs
  • Digital signage — Drive remote displays from a central media server
  • Security and surveillance — High-resolution video to a control room far away
  • Education and healthcare — Clean, interference-free AV links across large campuses

Why Fiber Over HDMI Cable?

Standard HDMI cables max out at around 10–15 meters before signal quality drops. Fiber optic cables carry the same signal 20 kilometers with zero electromagnetic interference — ideal for industrial environments, large venues, or any installation where cable runs are long and reliable signal is critical.
